Such is our popularity we’ve got teams queuing up to play us.

Today we welcomed the Senior Army Walking Football Club (department of KRC Genk in Belgium) which is the oldest walking football club in Belgium.

A very friendly group of players and WAGS who gave our over 70s group a tough game but 2 goals from Alan and one from Dave Owl gave us a 3-2 win despite a thunderbolt goal by Genk which nearly took out Eddie in goal.

In post match commentary Boris did highlight how close he came to scoring

In the slower game on pitch 2 we had a 7v6 reds v blacks game of much industry but little end product.

In fact a goal by Geordie Trevor and a reply by Toni was the extent of the goalscoring

Game 3 on the extra BIG pitch and it was day light robbery ! Call the police…

Yes it was a big pitch so much so the ref Sean reduced the width… he had little to do after that as the game was played in a good spirit other than the odd high ball…

That said it was a very stretched game and players were not able to get up and support the strikers on either team so there was very little goal action until the later part of the hour..

The Blacks played some great passing from front to back Prak and Paul marshalled Fez to good effect stopping any balls coming through..

Glyn and Eric were effective collecting the ball and getting it to Garry, but the reds defence held firm with Tommy & Dave King ensuring the game remained goalless.

Mercedes and Faye were seeing lots of the ball playing it around the midfield but with the blacks keeping Fez quiet the only shots on goal were from distance..

Changes were made by both teams Dave King going in goal for the reds and Paul Dog for the blacks. This brought Jim into the action for the reds and Dave Bee for the blacks.

Dave King pulled off some great saves from Eric, Garry and Dave Bee as the blacks began to take control of the game.. still 0-0. In the other goal Paul Dog got on the end of a Fezza fizzer and directed the ball out but ended up in a heap.. back to his feet the game continued..

Jim was linking up with Mercedes and Faye, Tommy was blocking the blacks attack after attack, but they just could get the ball passed the King! Mercedes hit several long range efforts but all were off target..

Finally the deadlock was broken.. Faye blocked tackled Paul the ball fortunately fell to the feet of Fez he popped it to the left of the on rushing Glyn and poked it goal bound and Glyn wiped him out..

Goal 1-0 and grass burns to boot…

The blacks pushed for an equaliser.. this time a long ball to Fez he turned towards goal.. Paul Dog outside his area blocked the initial shot towards the empty goal, but the ball fell to Fez and he rolled it into an empty net..

2-0 Reds.

The blacks continued playing the better alround football starting out with Prak playing into midfield, but they couldn’t beat the King whatever they did.. Eric’s long range effort almost on target, Dave Bee went close on several occasions from close range and Garry sent a few long range efforts narrowly wide…

Another reds breakaway this time Jim was through on goal his shot hit the post and rebounded out to Fez who rolled the ball into an empty net 3-0 Reds and a hatrick for Fez 🐶.

It was certainly a score that did not reflect the game and the reds certainly robbed the blacks with the 3-0 win.

Monday there’s no game as it’s a National Holiday.. see you all next Thursday 16/10/25.
