Seans surmisings

A bright sunny morning greeted our crew of footballs last hope Thursday morning.

The Blacks had the advantage of an early xtra player I think. But failed miserable to use their numerical advantage in any meaningful way!

This weeks game kick off was taken correctly by Reds. It’s amazing what mistakes can be avoided when the ref knows the rules.

From the kick off Reds moved into space well and put together some good passing moves. Ian of the skinny legs. Colin the Southampton assassin and their secret weapon Ian “ I played last year” rocket leg, who did his best to break the Blacks goalkeeper, Paul’s hands and fingures.

Late in the 1st period the Blacks took the lead with well work team goal. Rifled passed Paul by Ian the latter. An ominous sign of how the morning was going to go.

Blacks finally came into the game with Boris “bucket hat”’ hoverboard Kevo and commander H “ I give you a kick in he arse” working the ball out from the back, oOnly for play to breakdown when a midfield player, your truly,  would hit wayward passes to a wing player the “stumbling non Flying Dutchman, Ton.

Bambi was again at his finest, providing encouragement to his fellow red team mates. But not much else.

Buy half time the Reds were 3-0 ahead. Trevor back again from the PGA tour was now out the field and tearing into anyone in his way.

Fred managing to steer clear of Bambi’s feet, didn’t tumble and cleared every ball that he encountered.

The Fish lent assistance to the Reds midfield. In the 3rd period an on the floor long pass  by Kevo found Ken on he edge of goal the Reds box and he slotted home for Blacks with his customary toe poke.

A 2nd goal for Blacks followed shortly when Hooverboard Kevo hit a long range shot into the top corner of Reds goal. 3-2 game on.

But shortly after Ian “cannon leg” I played last year”struck again for Reds 4-2. At some point Steve “Not Tom Jones” got more involved and a tactical move for black, pushing H upfront seemed that it might pay off.

With Black missing several good clear chances. I believe H actually scored and Ken again with his signature move got 2 or 3 more for Blacks. But a lack of mobility by Black at midfield, that’s me,began to show and “once a year Ian” southampton Colin, skinny legs Ian began to dominate scoring 3 unanswered goals for Reds. I heard the final score was 6-5 Reds.

This reporter suspects the Blacks were credited with a goal that may or may not have been.

I am gone next week to Ireland to enjoy the rain, wind and cold weather. So some other roaming report is going to have to step forward and do the match report. Aloha!

Fezs Findings

Game 2 was in some respects 1 sided (8 v 😎 as the Blacks dominated the ball & most of the game…

The games never won on paper although this is occasionally discussed in the bar…

The blacks kept the ball and spent most of the game in the reds half of the pitch.

The reds found it difficult to get the ball forward to Fez 🐶 with the blacks deploying two defenders in close attention.. Steve 🎸 and Trevor 🦆 keeping him quiet for most of the game.

With Dave 👑 putting in another very solid display in goal keeping out anything that came within the frame of the goal.

Darren 💷 capitalised on a pass across goal… another bar topic and swept the ball passed Keith 👻 who was a day early… scary display for the kids 😔😂

Pete ☠ Daz 🏉 and Mats 🇸🇪 had the upper hand in midfield and Dave 🦉played some neat stuff with Darren 💷.

The ball broke again to Darren and 2-0 Blacks..

The reds huffed and puffed and it looked like one of those days.. Alvin 🐿 was supplied with a number of knock backs in front of goal, but skied several before hitting the post, close next time mate…

Prak 💈Dave 🦊 & Dave 🚖 worked hard to obtain and keep the ball, but the reds were playing too deep and any ball forward Fez 🐶 who was isolated and well contained by the blacks rearguard, so it came to little, when he did break thru Dave 👑 was more than equal to his efforts on goal.

Alan 🎤 tried to get forward down the left and had a number of shots, that the King 👑 was able to save. Tommy 🔫 & Keith managed to keep the score line respectable as we moved in to the second half.

Finally a break through for the reds Dave 🦊 beat the keeper at close range.. game on ? So we thought… 2-1.

A clearance looped into the air and Mats 🇸🇪 juggled right then left before hitting a volly towards Keith 👻 who attempted to save the ball but it looked like he flopped it onto the frame of the goal and somehow it ended up in the goal ! 3-1 blacks..

We know by now the game is not over until the….

Alvin 🐿 who has seen several efforts head towards the port, having adjusted his sights and hit a post.. suddenly struck a sweet shot from just inside the blacks half, this time it hit the back of the net… 3-2 blacks !

Yes there was still time for the reds to squander a plethora of chances to put the blacks to bed… finally the blacks put a move together with literally no time left on the clock they passed like they wanted to get to the bar…

Fez 🐶 rolled the ball to an on running, sorry fast walking Keith 👻 who for the first time in a vvvvvery long time hit the target and the net bluged 👀 3-3 !

The game was a draw, the blacks left disappointed and the reds jubilant with the draw.

Thank you to Steve 📢 who reffed the game even handedly although he missed 2 pens for the reds 👀👀 🤔
