Game 1 had the ref of all refs today, if game 2 ever gets Keef in charge they’ll all be in the sin bin for running

Before the game Keef called us all together and advised us not to hold or hit below the belt or something or other about rules that most of us ignored to our peril.

No sooner had we started the first infringement occurred, I think someone was moving slightly faster than a tortoise.

Bewildered by having a ref with a pea in his whistle we soldiered on.

Dave  fully recovered from his blow to the head on Monday ghosted through at a slightly faster snails pace and put reds 1-0 up

Blacks equaliser was a good team goal with Toni feeding Bambi who didn’t miss

Steve in goal saw Dave shot about 2 minutes before it bobbled through and yet somehow it slipped through his arms, perhaps the new goalie gloves were jinxed.

A second from Bambi had us at 2-2 for a good chunk of the game.

Paulo who models himself on CR7 or maybe R2D2 was wayward with all his shots and then fell foul of ref Keef’s leniency, having sashayed one too many times he was binned for 2 minutes reducing reds to 5 v 7.

Blacks didn’t punish understrength reds but with the game petering out to a draw, Paul left his goal area and incredibly gave possession away to Toni who scored the easiest of chances to win the game 3-2 to blacks

Post match Keef nominated Dave  man of the match “he ran all over the pitch” was the quote

We moved onto Monday and the last game of the season

Fezzas Forts

Game 2 – in the absence of our match reporter who’s enjoying a family wedding in Firenze (Italy) El Fuego 🔥 (Fezza) reports …
Reds looked the more likely winners “on paper” but we all know the game isn’t played “on paper”. A weekly conversation after several beers in the bar !!

As soon as the first ball was kicked it was clear el zorro 🦊 had put his boots on the wrong feet passing straight to Jim ⿮ who was hanging in the midfield, he threaded a ball to Casper (Gert ghosting all over the front line)🌷he slide it passed the on rushing Kev🌲Mk 1…. 1-0 Blacks..
It got worse with el zorro 🦊 teeing up firstly 🕷 Sean for a spectacular right footed volley top bin Blacks 2-0… el zorro 🦊 made it a hatrick this time teeing up Martin who hit another volley that almost ripped the net off wunderbar Blacks 3-0…

Reds didn’t know what had hit them with the words of the captain el zorro 🦊 ringing in their ears “you’re gonna after work hard to beat these lads”.

Blacks were superbly marshalled at the back by el rey 🤴 who was talking the talk and pulling the strings, Daz 🏉 who was raiding up and down the right wing making a nuisance of himself as the reds struggled to mark him as he had a few good shots at goal, Martin ⿮ showing he’s more than goals his silky skills on display controlling in defence and attack, 🕷 legs Sean intercepted, broke up and nullified the reds game! Jim ⿮ continued to menace the reds defence that had more holes in it than colander sliding Casper el🌷ghost in on goal time again..

Finally a bit of luck el perro 🐶 pulled one back for the reds 3-1 poking it in from close range…no sooner el rey 🤴 took advantage of Alvin’s 🐿 indiscretion of walking in to his own box, despite his team mates telling him to keep out and smashed in from the penna spot Blacks 4-1..

Bad to worse for the reds… Jim ⿮ right place right time continued his glorious goal scoring prowess of scoring in every game for over a month 👀 scouts in the stand were busy taking notes !!

It was caliente and the blacks had played so well for almost 40 minutes it was no surprise that’s gaskets started to blow (Dave 🚖 was up the coast and would have been 🤬🤬🤬 if playing) as the blacks fell apart !

Reds started to pass and get close to the blacks goal.. that said the🕷Sean produced a number of saves to keep them out…

Lady Luck played a part in the come back !! El rey🤴poked the ball back to his keeper unfortunately he had a thread hanging off his Bobby dazzler white boots and the ref was on hand to blow for a Penna.. el perro 🐶 smashed the ball home with some great videoing by Frank.. 5-2 blacks…

Next el perro 🐶 stepped inside and bang 5-3 Blacks & with the blacks gasping for breath in the searing heats el perro 🐶 let loose striking the up right the re bound hit 🕷 Sean who was unable to stop the ball flashing into the net…

Game on the reds now came to life.. Kev MK 1 🌲 was seeing more & more of the ball and playing some great stuff with younger brother Mark MK 2 🌲🌲….. MK 2 received the ball on the edge of the box and back healed towards goal.. the 🕷 Sean got one of his many legs in a tangle and the ball crossed the line or did it…

Ref John making up for the earlier el Rey thread in the box said no goal!!!! Thankfully Frank was on hand to video the audacious back heal VAR on the club website let us know if it’s a goal or not voting goal would mean a reds victory 😳😜😉…

Dave 🐝 was buzzing down the wings and letting loose left, right and centre this time 🕷 Sean was able to stop everything that was buzzed at him..

Alvin was now finding space and letting loose too with shots peppering 🕷 Sean’s goal.. time was running out as the bar was about to put the shutters up the blacks looking towards the bar with tongues hanging out lost concentration for that one moment in time…

The reds fashioned the move of the game passing the ball sweetly even el zorro 🦊 passed to one of his own team mates, Alvin 🐿 inside to Kev 🌲 Mk1, to Dave 🐝 who controlled and squared it to Mark 🌲🌲 Mk 2 who took it out his feet and not for the first time today smashed a right footer towards the goal 🕷 Sean deployed legs and arms to his left but the ball nestled in the top corner 5-5…

The bar was open and John who had reffed a very fair game with not one player sin binned although he kept a tight reign on the usual suspects who cross the line most weeks 😉 blew the final whistle…..

“Spirit of the game” was enjoyed by all thank you and see you Monday for our last game at Polideportivo ⚽ prior to the summer break 🏖
