Game 2.
It was a bright cold day in November, and the clocks were striking thirteen as the gallant futbolistas ambled across the hallowed plastic of the polideportivo.
It was Reds versus blacks in this game of folks not old enough or too shit to play in the representative game against the south west of England.
Reds started off brightly and raced into a three nil lead with goals for Graham, Fez and Steve before your correspondent decided that he felt sorry for the reds and registered an assist for Kevo to make it 3-1.
Graham then restored the Black lead with a cracker before your correspondent registered his second assist to make it 4-2 with a pinpoint pass to Dave to slot it past Keef in the Black goal.
More decent football followed and the Reds looked like they were in the ascendancy with Keve making it 4-3, this time the assist coming from Keef.
That stirred the Blacks into action and in the last 10 minutes of the game, scored twice through Fez, completing his hat trick to make the final score 6-3 to the Blacks.
The teams retired to the bar for the highlight of the day, cheap beer.

Another Black Swan Event.
The WFS representative team wearing black found themselves up against a team of strangers from Dawlish. A picturesque place renowned for its black swans. The blacks had heard that the Dawlish lot were a tasty team so put out a half decent team of journeyman footballers.
The opposition looked smart in their matching pale blue shirts, and their sartorial elegance was enough to give them an early advantage.
Alvin started at the back, but was trying to shake off intrusive thoughts about his calamitous own goal on Monday, where he took a leaf out of Wayne Sleep’s book by pirouetting on the edge of the box, throwing in a pas de trois before back healing the ball into the back of his own goal in spectacular fashion
Ready, steady Eddy was in goal for the home team guaranteeing at least one great save to keep the blacks in it.
In the visitors’ goal was a reincarnation of the Indian god Shiva, you know who I’m talking about, the one with all the arms!
The Dawlish glove man pulled off a string of remarkable saves with his numerous arms and two legs to prevent the blacks from scoring at least three certain goals.
Prak and Dave the Cab were in the blacks engine room with Rory and Alvin in a more advanced position.
Unfortunately, Alvin was a tad profligate and was denied on a number of occasions by the opposition keeper when it looked easier to score.
Meanwhile Prak went through his usual phase of trying to give the ball away in front of goal so that the opposition could score.
Colin was having a solid game at the back and managed to throw in some tasty challenges to let the visitors know they were in a real game.
The Dawlish boys deployed some WWE wrestling tactics to break up some of the blacks’ more promising moves.
Even when the blacks were able to break through the opposition’s massed defensive managed to protect their goal.
At the other end, the blacks were rarely troubled, and when they were, Eddy was perfectly positioned to save the occasional shot on target.
Just as the boys were looking like they could win it, the disastrous black swan even transpired. As you know a black swan event is totally unpredictable although everyone thinks they can explain it thanks to the numerous benefits of hindsight bias.
Of course,
It’s all obvious looking back. Dave the Cab dribbled into trouble and ran out of touches, and Colin stepped in to take the ball on.
Unfortunately the ball bounced free and landed conveniently at the feet of the opposition centre forward who blasted it past Eddy who only just managed to dive for cover.
Dawlish 1-0 Blacks.
The blacks continued to press forward for the rest of the game but couldn’t beat the Dawlish keeper.
It was a hard fought game played in a generally good spirit, although a draw would have been a fair result.
Final score Dawlish 1-0 WFS Blacks Shout out to John for doing a great job of refereeing.
Once the report for the other game is received it will be posted here.
