Match report Game 1 brought to you by team picking, game reffing Dave 🦊
Following a few last minute changes to the line ups, the match began
But inside the first few minutes, there was a side challenge on Dave 🦉 who then had to leave the field of play.
Again there was changes to the line ups. Mercedes joining the Blacks.
The Reds went 1-0 up when Rick was one on one with the keeper. His first shot hits the post, which rebounded to him that he put away.
The 2nd period remained at 1-0 to the Reds who were passing the ball to feet nicely, organised by Kevo.
3rd period.
The Reds had a corner. It was hit hard and and low by Bambi. Kevo on the edge of the goal box, played a simple backheel flick. Reds 2-0.
Kevo got his brace a few minutes later. Reds 3-0.
Dave 🚖 was trying to raise the efforts of the Black team, however, a wide shot from Paul 🎂 was deflected by Dave into the goal. Reds 4-0.
Finally the Blacks scored. Following a few attempts on goal, Mercedes pulled one back. 4-1.
Into the last period.
Ken ⭐️ playing a good game, picked the ball up on the left, moved forward and slotted the ball nicely into the bottom left of the goal.
Reds 5-1.
Rick scored his second, a good pass into the goal. Reds 6-1.
By now the Blacks heads had gone and the hot day was getting to everyone. However one final push by the Blacks saw Jacco 🏡 get his debut goal. Bambi never saw it.
Reds winning 6-2.
Yes it was hot and unsurprisingly everyone was walking by the end of the game. 🥵🥵

It was dam hot come KO so game two of the season started a bit slow with players still finding their feet passes were too long or too short often intercepted so the game was a bit rusty to start with..
That said the blacks were the sharper with Jim & Lawrence back for their first game they tipped the balance as the rest of us were a tad sore from last Thursday !
With some good passing the blacks tested the reds who defended well in numbers, but when the ball was moved forward they lacked the support to make anything meaningful going forward and lost the ball…
As expected the Blacks took the lead with Keith firing passed Sean after some good passing..
1 – 0 Blacks
In a break away soon after the Reds drew level Henning and Fez combined and the ball was rolled across the pitch to Mark who rifled the ball passed Steve in goal…
1 – 1
There was then a lot of sloppy play with no really efforts on goal as players gasped for air and sweated through every pour !
The Blacks upped the tempo leaving the Reds chasing shadows…
Lawrence picked up a loose ball moved inside and smashed it into the roof of the net..
2 – 1 Blacks
Keith’s turn a good cross saw the energetic youngster nip in front of the Reds defence and slot it home from the edge of the box…
3 – 1 Blacks..
Lawrence again found space and slotted the ball home…
4 – 1 Blacks..
The reds had worked hard but the final ball was lacking and loosing by 3 goals with 12 minutes left, it looked like they were dead and buried..
Mark slotted Fez in he rounded Tommy in goal and slid the ball into an empty net..
4 – 2
Fez managed to pick the last man’s pocket and slid it passed the advancing goalie !
4 – 3
Some good play by Mark who cut the ball back … defender slid in and handball… penna..
Fez stepped up and buried the ball for his first hatrick of the season & the score was now…
4 – 4.. 😳
The clock was ticking down as the ball was threaded through to Henning who smashed it into the top corner..
The huge swing was complete…
5 – 4 Reds
It was a game of quarters with the Blacks dominating 3 but the reds found the net to take the spoils in the last one..
