Monday was a bright morning with game 2 lining up 6 aside

Blacks had part time ref Steve in goal for his second game with Paul, Colin and Prak interchanging at the back and Dave 🚖 and Mark leading the line.

Reds had Welsh Steve stepping up from game 1 along with Dave 🐝 sitting alongside John, Lawrence, Rory and Tommy marshalling the back line whilst rotating their keeper.

Blacks were struggling to move the ball around accurately with probably too many defenders but the positive interchanges between 🚖 and Mark led to Mark opening the scoring.

The moment of the game soon followed, John closely marked by Colin received the ball on the wing flicked it around his shadow and hit the sweetest dipping shot that Steve had no chance of saving, you can still see the celebrations going on now 😅, ref Dave 🦊 didn’t have the heart to disallow it for over head height.

Sadly to say for reds this was to be their only goal.

As the game progressed Mark added 3 more, Prak helped himself to 2 and Colin the stalwart of blacks defence was in the right place twice to slot home his own brace

Inbetween the black goals Lawrence and John were knocking the ball round well supported by 🐝 and Steve and even Tommy drifted up front to try his best but good defending and goalkeeping kept them at bay.

The 8-1 scoreline seemed unlikely at the start and harsh by the end but blacks played some great passing football and reds eventually ran out of steam, the biggest shock probably being Dave 🚖 not featuring on the score sheet

Game one was a little one sided this monday, a bit reminiscent of  a certain FA cup game played on saturday.

Reds running ( not the correct word ) out deserved 7-2 winners over the black team.

Some great football was played by both sides, with great one touch football, and some cracking goals. 

In another parallel with saturdays game, a shot from at least 20 yards beat the blacks keeper all ends up, allbeit with the slightest of deflections off Mick Dundees backside. The only difference being the small matter of a 50 year age difference between the scorers.

One sour point to bring up, for the first time in a long time a member of the black team was rightly sin binned for ‘ gobbing off at the ref’. It doesnt fit well into our game and no one, especially refs, who willingly give their time and energy, to help the game flow, should have to put up with any form of abuse. Rant over!
