After a few call-offs, 16 fellows presented themselves for competition.

The nucleus of the team had been selected for the Seniors Cup on 2 March, plus young Nick and were in red.

They very quickly fell behind to four goals from Dave R and Tony S each with two splendid counters apiece. Nick pulled two back before the interval before he was responsible for an audacious score at the commencement of the second half.

Tony S ( the black bibbed front man) jokingly kicked the ball out of turn from the kick-off. He played it straight to Nick who despatched the ball over half the length of the field past a bewildered Adam into the onion bag.

Normal service was soon resumed and the black bibs ran in another four from Charles, Paul, Popeye and our Romanian guest Tony (Hagi).

Gary pulled two back before that man Nick again scored his fourth, with the last kick of the ball.

An exciting fourteen goal thriller and a good warm up for our over 7O’s before our visit to Benalmadena.
