Countdown to next game at El Canadon
Here it is guys the update from your 2nd, oh sorry forgot TV Kev, 3rd favourite match reporter for the game at a lovely and sunny el Canadon.
With a treatment room busier than the Liverpool one in the 20/21 season (just for you John), it was a bit of a struggle to get enough players this week but Jim stepped up to play twice in a week and Ant’s friend, Ali, made his debut with the WFS lads.
And what a game we had!! It was back and forward, side to side, across the pitch and end to end stuff. With a lot more room as 5 a side it was possibly quicker than normal but still good quality. Especially the two keepers. Ray – watch out Neil is after your number one jersey.
In fact without Neil it could have been a much higher score for the blues. He saved with his knees, shoulders, ankles… every part of his body other than that perfectly coiffured beard.
Anyway, to the score/scorers. After getting it all wrong last week I’m going to revert to my usual lack of detail on the goals but it was 5 to 3 in favour of the blues. Our new Swedish /Caledonian player Ali getting a hat rick and Duracell battery powered Joe getting the other two for los Azules.
For the Pinks – John, as always, scored a couple of quality goals and TV Kev got a sneaky one under Ray’s dive. The order of the goals as usual escapes me but the end result was a great game played again in great spirit.
I have to also mention the involvement of the goal posts today. In fact they may have had more touches than your reporter. At one point every shot bounced across the goal, then back again, then across… etc, etc.
There’s no better example of this than the hard working Dave S, who was back from his latest tour with Annie L and the group, and had a great one on one with Ray. Dave shimmied, shallied, shimmied and shallied then hit the post only for it to hit the post and roll along the line. Maybe not made of “sweet dreams” after all.
Sorry Dave I promise that’s it now out of my system.
Great entertainment for medium Chris, who being injured, volunteered to Ref. Thank Chris – great job and hope to get you back on the pitch soon.
That’s all for now. Just remember guys WFS is always the winner.
