Countdown to the next  game

On yet another warm, hot summers day, the two teams lined up at the Retamar. The first few minutes were cagey, either that or it was too bloody warm.

The lemons opened the scoring but the oranges roared straight back and took a 3-1 lead.

Mike brought the yellows back into the game, scoring a screamer which Dave couldn’t get anywhere near. Mike had just transferred across from the orange team and his addition proved vital for the rest of the game as the yellows roared into an 8-3 lead.

After a water break, the oranges decided to come back into the game and scored twice before the referee decided that the game was getting to close for comfort for his team and blew the final whistle.

The only actions of note after the game were the copious amounts of beer drunk in the bar and the distribution of pork pies by Kevo. It was just like being back in he wheeltappers and shunters social club.

Person of the match went to the young girl who nutmegged Keith whilst returning the ball back to him.

Scorers for the yellows were Pete with3, Steve with 2 and Ken, Mike and Keith with one. The Orange scorers were Dave, Alan and Mats with 1 and Eddie with a couple of screamers.
