Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo
Match report by Steve
Cherries 2 Blueberries 8
A bit of a strange day to report in the annals of our WF club.
First of all, our esteemed coordinator made a bit of a “horlicks” of todays teamsheets.
Poor Dave, keen to tell everybody how the bees are better than the Galacticos, was originally excluded.

Errors sorted out Keith welcomed newcomer Andrew and returners Paolo and James. A couple of latecomers now delayed the start but the ref stood in for the reds to allow Kick Off.
The blacks quickly took advantage of the reds disarray to take the lead. Two corners fed to Bambi who tee’d up first Hans and then Breck, the latter a peach of a shot, put the blacks two up.
With Keith now reverting back to ref duties the reds tried to get sorted. However, four further clinical strikes from Colin and Dave put the blacks ahead by six at half time. In all fairness to the reds when they occasionally broke through the black’s defence both Breck and Kevo in goal were in top form, no bloopers today!
Following a half-time rethink, Keef fearing a rout for the reds, took on a dual ref/playing role. This move provided a game of three quarters as the reds, now with an extra man, closed the gap on the blacks.
Dave the bee managed to beat Breck with a crafty lob that nestled in the top corner to open the reds scoring.

The blacks who had effectively taken their foot off the pedal became increasingly bemused by some of the refs decisions.
High balls and multiple touches were ignored to allow play to flow.
In addition, Ken was allowed freedom of the opponents box to create mayhem and when he tapped in from six inches mutiny was in the air. Even the normally placid Crocodile Dundee became a bit snappy.
However, goals from Breck and Dave seemed to quell matters and the blacks ran out victors 8 to 2.
Handshakes all round and debate on the interpretation of “spirit of the game” continued up into the bar where a few beers were enjoyed by the remaining players. The debate might be resolved by the next outing on Monday, see you then.
