ORANGES 5 v LEMONS 3

For the first time in many months everyone paid their daily subscriptions on time, however, as normal, Boris still managed to delay the  obligatory team photograph as a result of having to dress himself and pruning his hair incurring Keef’s wrath in the process.

Stevie C, aka the Milky Bar Kid, not surprisingly gave today’s match a miss after his derogatory remarks last week in the Commander’s absence referring to  him as some form of latter day Sheriff of Nottingham when collecting the subs. No surprise then that everyone paid promptly today!

There was much disappointment as part of the delivery of the new black and red tabards were left behind in the UK by the courier, this for some reason caused some friction in the Samuel’s household, however Keef promised to bring some samples along on Thursday for Kevo to act as a mannequin. Let’s hope they are large sizes for the pie 🥧 man to try on.

At first glance, the team sheet it looked suspiciously like Keef had once again selected himself in the strongest team, for once he got his come-uppance with Oranges passing the ball well as a team and comfortably winning despite the Lemons getting two late goals.

KDN put the Oranges in front only for it to be quickly cancelled out by Dave 🦉before the first break.

Rory making a welcome reappearance, then scored a good goal for the Oranges after being put through into space by H, the latter then making it 3-1 with a shot from distance.

Breck, as ever, was solid in midfield, ably assisted by Rory for the Oranges, who then made it 4-1 before KDN scored his second making it 5-1. KDN then took over the whistle after his cameo performance and albeit it is hard to believe performed worse than Keef!

Late goals by Mick 🍒 and Kevo 🥧 made the score more respectable for the Lemons.

For the Lemons, Dave 🐝 asked to be mentioned in despatches for not letting in any goals, the fact that he was only in goal for several minutes and that two of the Oranges players were getting changed during this period seemed to be lost on him!

The ever improving Bambi for the Oranges deserves a mention as does Mike 🐊.
