Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Match Report by Steve C

Bob’s on tax collection duties today so things ran smoothly.

New players today Paul and Kevin, A warm welcome to both.

Steve is on referee duty today so no malarkey from Keith today! Kevo takes the warm-up followed by a return to “amateur hour” photo shoot (see a pro’s work from Monday on the WhatsApp group).

KICK OFF

The lemons playing with an extra man had the bulk of the possession but some sterling work by the orange defence kept them at bay. Right at the end of the first quarter Keith hit a high shot into the net which the goalie should have stopped but it was chalked off for a high shot?!!

The stalemate continued throughout the second quarter and play was frequently broken up by the ref in response to running offences committed by both sides.

Eventually the lemons took the lead in the 32 minute through a goal from Kaj (I think). The pressure of playing with a man less now began to tell on the orange outfit and two further goals were shipped before the end of the 3rd quarter.

Keith swapped tabards in an effort to redress the balance.

This worked as the oranges pulled one back through Kevo, a neatly placed curler with the outside of the foot into the bottom corner.

Unfortunately the oranges couldn’t get a second to make the final minutes more exciting.

The ref, who had obviously not been briefed about “Samuels time”, blew for full time right on the hour mark.

Handshakes all round and up to the bar. All back again to do it again on Monday.

Addendum

Walking football is a game played, in the main, by sophisticated over 50’s. How hard is it to get 20 people lined up for a photo?
