Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo
Match Report by Geoff
BLACKS ….7 versus REDS …3
With the lowest turn out for some months at the Polideportivo just one 6 aside match kicked off as the sun began to shine through an overcast sky.
Breck looking like a slightly chunky Beckham was sporting a new stylish bob tied up with a rubber band in his hair blew the whistle starting the match as referee.
Klaus put the Blacks one up after 5 minutes as the result of a delightful through pass from old stager Ken.
A few minutes later the Milky Bar Kid looking like one of the cyclops playing with only one eye whilst waiting for a cataract operation in the other blasted a shot wide of the Blacks goal nearly decapitating todays match reporter much to everyone’s amusement.
This was followed by Kevo in goal for the Blacks tipping a shot from Welsh Steve over the bar and shortly afterwards making an even better save from Simon fisting it onto the post to go for a corner taking great delight in showing everyone the impression the ball had made on his hand at the the first water break.
1-0 to Blacks.
The Blacks then started the second session in sizzling form, first Ken made yet another fantastic pass to Kaj who returned the compliment only for the old fart to then uncharacteristically miss an absolute sitter.
Moments later Ken trying to make up for his miss then in quick succession hit two terrific shots only to see them both hit the post with Welsh Steve well beaten on both occasions in the Reds goal.
Then just before the second water break a delightful pass from Ken put Klaus into space to score with the easiest of chances slotting the ball past the Welsh Wonder in goal who was much relieved by this time to hear the whistle for the water break. 2-0 to the Reds.
The Milky Bar Kid by now had had enough of trying to be a cyclop and reluctantly handed his Red bib over to Breck who took his place for the remainder of the game.
H took over the officiating duties with the cyclop taking on the role of his assistant reporter. At the start of the third session Ken actually scored following a pass of Klaus making up for all his earlier misses. 3-0 to Blacks.
Almost immediately Rick pulled a goal back for the Reds with an absolutely terrific shot into the top corner of the net. 3-1 to Blacks.
Then just before the last water break Breck deflected a shot into his own goal which he strongly refuted only for Dazza his teammate to disagree thereby making it 4-1 and influencing H as referee as to who actually scored the goal.
The last session started with Breck scoring with a rasper of a shot making up in some small way for his own goal. 4-2 to Blacks.
From the kick off Keef with a side footer made it 5-2 with himself and Kevo by now dominating the midfield almost at will.
Breck trying his best to lift his side hit another blaster which just grazed the wrong side of the Blacks goal.
Dazza not wanting to be left out of proceedings then tried to reduce the deficit further only for Klaus in the Blacks goal to make a fine save.
In added time Kevo scored the goal of the match with a terrific volley from a well taken corner. 6-2 to Blacks.
By now Dazza for the Reds was doing his utmost to get onto the score hit a fine shot only to be denied by the crossbar, this being one of the rare occasions the ball doesn’t fly out of the Polideportivo whenever he shoots!
Dave the Cab scored for the Reds making it 6-3 before man of the match and old stager Ken with a toe poker scored his second goal making it 7-3 to the Blacks just before the final whistle.
On the bar balcony Kevo celebrated his recent 66th birthday by buying jugs of beer out of the first payment of his old age pension to end the day in style .
