On the warmest morning this summer the oranges & lemons lined up to do battle.
For the first period, played on very narrow touch lines, it proved impossible to put 2 passes together between 19 bunched players but as soon as the pitch was widened the Lemons began to move the ball much better and it was no surprise when they took the lead with an Eddie shot, he also got a long distance second after he intercepted an orange throw in near the half way line.
Big Alan making a long awaited return got in on the act with a distant attempt which deceived Garry in goals and squirmed in via his hands.
The oranges then pulled one back after a bit of pressure with Steve Mc finding the net past The Shadow.
Back came the lemons and Eddie completed his hat trick, but the best was saved for the last bit of action when Mick Dundee, sporting his new go faster red trainers, somehow managed to loop his effort over the keeper and it dipped in under the bar.
5-1 was a convincing win but handshakes all round and then of to the bar.
Next match is Thursday 9.30 meet at Retamar and until further notice we will be playing our future sessions on the larger pitch at the Retamar.
Ps could someone call round and pick Simon up, found him outside my door this morning. Think he is overthinking his man marking job😂😂😂👍⚽
