Oranges 7 v Yellows 2
Following last Thursdays heavy rain when the session was held indoors at the gymnasium at the PoliDeportivo, it was good to return on a warm sunny morning on Monday to play on the astroturf.
Playing excellent 3 touch walking football, the old farts (Oranges) were a somewhat surprising, yet deserving, winners against the young upstarts (Yellows), not least because they prevented Keef from running with the ball with him to having to go in goal out of frustration!
Scorers for the Oranges, with a hat-trick, was Kevo, Dave🦉,with a brace and H and Pete🐠getting one apiece.
Kevo, after his pirouetting in the gym last week, managed to keep on his feet throughout the game and played brilliantly as did Fish🐠,who scored the best goal of the match with an angled volley after a good interchange of passes with H. Bob led brilliantly from midfield ably supported by Mick 🍒and the Lawman.
For the Yellow’s, Lidia unfortunately aggravated her groin in the warm up as a result of a marathon cycle ride the previous day and had to pull out.
Scorers for the Yellows were Gazza and Johan, star player was undoubtedly Master Chef Olaf,especially in the bar afterwards, with yet another excellent culinary display of puff pastry 🥐 🥮.
So, now to the much anticipated return fixture of the ‘old fart’s’ at Calahonda on Thursday, when hopefully 🙏 the weather remains fine so as to enjoy another local derby match.
