Good news about Colin was conveyed by Keith in the lead up to today’s game. Everybody was so pleased with Colin’s positive outcome.

Some changes to the team sheets were made prior to the players being taken through a warm up by Kevo. New players were introduced today, Paolo, Trevor and Keith-welcome.

Not the usual team photo shoot today as Keith had brought in a wedding photographer to take the team photo. But hang on, it was the multi-talented John behind the lens, taking time off from his period of recuperation. Is there anything this guy can’t do?

KICK OFF
The oranges were quickly into their passing moves and grabbed a very early goal (min 2) through Pete.

The lemon goalie was caught cold by the snap shot but this might have been avoided if he had participated in Kevo’s intense warm-up instead of trying to impersonate the Sheriff of Nottingham!

The lemons battled back and Kevo in goal had to look smart to stop efforts from Kaj and Dave.

The oranges were putting together some slick passing moves and went further ahead through Dave who celebrated the end of his recent barren spell in front of goal.

The referee, never one to take defeat lying down, urged the lemons on. Geoff responded by setting him up to pull one back for the lemons.

Martyn arrived and took over in goal for the lemons, just in time to repel the oranges, who by now had won the midfield battle.

A series of fine saves frustrated the orange attackers including the Bee, who was looking for a double on the day.

Just after the half hour mark, John trundled a curler into the bottom corner to extend the oranges lead to 3-1.

Keith, now free from the shackles of the whistle, urged on his team mates. However, apart from a shot from Kaj which hit the post and a lob from Bambi which was tipped over, the lemons attack lacked a cutting edge.

Meanwhile, in defence Bob blocked a goal bound rocket. Ouch!

No more scoring and KDN blew for full time.
