Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

BLACKS ….4 versus REDS ….1
On the hottest day so far of the year just the one 9 aside game took place on Thursday at the Polideportivo.
Surprisingly with the weather touching 80% there was nevertheless some excellent 3 touch football by both teams, indeed the final score did not reflect how well the Reds played only to be thwarted by some excellent goalkeeping of the various Blacks keepers.
Indeed due to the high temperature water breaks took place every 10 minutes or so and for once there was plenty of volunteers to take a turn in goal so as to have a breather.
The Blacks took an early lead through Dave the Cab with a cracking low shot into the corner of the Reds goal. This was followed by Johnny aka Puscas our Hungarian friend going close to increasing the Blacks lead , followed by Keef for the Reds having a terrific shot saved by Dazza.
Nigel for the Reds equalised just before the first water break when he finally evaded the close marking of Audrey, the latter of late having a liking to kicking lumps out of his calves in true Norman Hunter style.
In the second session after the water break Breck went close with a great shot tipped around the post by the Black‘s keeper.
Then the terminator Kaj went close but fortunately for Alvin his shot skinned the crossbar. Just before the whistle went for the second water break with Alvin in inspired form in goal for the Reds he made another fine save from the battery wizard of last week Steve Mac.
No score during this session the score remaining all square at one apiece.
Third session began with Keef for the Reds trying to emulate Dazza when he skied a shot way off target much to the amusement of his teammate Welsh Steve who he had been constantly giving a verbal bashing too for not getting back enough in defence.
The Reds with Kevo and Nigel creating chances could nevertheless not score with old stager Ken missing the best of several scoring chances with the Blacks goal at his mercy.
Yet another session remaining goalless with all the players by now thankful to hear the whistle to take onboard some water.
Still all square.
The Blacks opened the next session in fine style scoring three quick goals in 4 minutes from Kaj a brace, this when not fouling his opponents from behind and a special effort from twinkle toes Eddie into the top corner of the Reds net.
Indeed H, as referee, took some verbal stick from the Reds for not penalising Kaj enough in an endeavour to thwart his enthusiasm in what is after all supposed to be a none contact sport.
4-1 to the Blacks at the last water break.
The Reds began the last session in scintillating style with an effort from Keef blocked and a great save by Andy in goal from the ever dangerous Nigel.
In the last minute Audrey gave away a penalty by stepping into her goal area which she strongly disputed alleging she had been pushed. This angst was short lived when Breck blasted the ball over the bar aka Harry Kane style.
Nigel for the Reds had one last gasp effort tipped over the bar by the Blacks goalie which just about summed up their day.
Final score 4-1 and almost everyone retired to balcony bar for refreshments and to celebrate ‘Fish’s 63rd birthday to which he generously made a donation to the whip.
