Countdown to the next game at Benalmadena
YELLOWS ..6 v ORANGES ..1
On yet another splendidly hot day, necessitating frequent water breaks, the Yellows were comfortable winners, being more organised both in defence and attack, ably led by Stephen Mc and Pete G.
Before either team had scored, Malcolm aka Bambi, with his unique gait which somehow defies the laws of physics, from some distance hit a terrific shot for the Oranges which was superbly saved by Pete G in goal.
For the Yellows, Dave🦉scored a hat-trick in his usual greedy goal poaching style, with others from Pete G and Stephen Mc to go into a 5-0 lead.
Steve C, now rebranded the Suntan Kid, scored a consolation goal, but what a goal making the score 5-1 after his scorching thunderbolt shot from all of 35 yards flew past H in goal giving him no chance, albeit the latter claimed it was because the blazing sun was in his eyes.
Later in the game showing his previous effort was no fluke, the Suntan Kid replicated a similar shot again from distance which was well saved by Pete G in goal for the Yellows.
This caused a comment in the bar afterwards that he may well have been a vampire in a previous life who slept all day, hence his other nickname the Milky Bar Kid.
Towards the finish, Martyn who for some reason likes to be mentioned in dispatches, slotted a fluky shot by Fish in goal for the Oranges 🍊 to make it 6-1.
Terry, for the Oranges also stood out by way of making more step overs than a Morris Dancer, until he realised he had his new shoes on the wrong feet. Hope he has kept the receipt!
Bob the Builder, in the absence of Keef refereed the match competently, most notably without any real controversy.
The reporter would like to thank his ghost writer Chopper for his input with some of the aforementioned enlightened comments in the bar afterwards.
Next match at the PoliDeportivo is Thursday 17th June, 10.30 for 11am start, all welcome.
