Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Report by the Commander

REDS 2 versus BLUES 3

Only one match today of eleven a side which is a rarity of late at the Polideportivo. In the absence of ace correspondent ‘Leo Tolstoy’ aka Rory and his assistant ‘Milky Bar Kid’ aka Stevie ‘C’ the Commander reluctantly took over such duties. As a consequence this report will be much shorter than that of Rory the intrepid scribe ✍️.

The BLUES took an early lead by a toe prodded screamer from Big ‘Al’ which Glyn skilfully got out of the way rather than block it giving ‘H’ no chance in goal only sighting the ball as it rattled into the back of the net.

Still shaken by this mishap ‘H’ a few moments later miss kicked a clearance straight  into the patch of Breck the retired criminal compensation expert who gleefully rammed it into the REDS net. 2-0 to the BLUES .

On the half hour Alan ‘O’ lobbed a beautiful shot over the wannabe ‘Pickford’ aka Laurie in the BLUES goal.

Dazzle 🏉 as is his want was running around like a demented firecracker 🧨for the REDS on Bonfire Night, totally bemused as to why he was constantly being penalised for running by the strict referring of Mr Loasby.

On the 40 minute mark Breck got his second goal for the BLUES following a fine through pass from Graham. 3-1 to the BLUES.

On the hour Mike ‘Crocodile from Dundee’ got a late goal for the REDS which was scant consolation for the six sitters he had missed previously.

Despite desperately trying to get an equaliser the REDS were thwarted by the BLUES defence and the reluctance of Stevie Boy with the whistle refusing to play a little longer as Keef most certainly would have done.

Man of the match was Eddie whose ball distribution in midfield was superb for the REDS with Hamid for the BLUES solid in defence.

Bambi  for the BLUES was just himself continually gesticulating when things didn’t go right for him, as Steve commented in the bar afterwards that the only thing he did right all day was leaving straight after the final whistle without joining everyone for refreshments.
