Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo
Match Report by Steve C
Liquorice Allsorts – 2 Strawberry Tarts – 2 plus
Black Rory 2 – Red Rory 2;
Aggregate Score 4 – 4
A new day at the Poli was accompanied by new tabards and new rules for today’s socceroos to contemplate. Keith explained the changes vis-a-vis tackling and how the changes would protect the local A&E departments in the coming months.
KDN had the whistle for today’s match and would be implementing the changes in line with Keith’s guidance.
Following a 2 minute silence the game started. The Allsorts quickly found themselves out of sorts as the Tarts grabbed a two goal lead through Rory and Dave.
Keith managed to pull one back for the Allsorts before Rory, surely a scoring sensation to rival Max the flying Dane, scored a third for the Tarts to make it 3-1after 20 minutes.
At this point some team rebalancing was carried out with a late arrival and Rory and Bambi switching tabards.

This switcheroo soon brought a change in fortune (as expected by K) for the Allsorts as Rory shamelessly scored two more goals for the Allsorts to level the score.
With time in the third quarter now ebbing away, Dazza tried to block a shot from the opposition but could only deflect it towards his own goal. The cry of “Oh bollox” rang around the arena as the ball skittered past the hapless goalie into the corner of the net. Turnaround complete as the Allsorts now lead 4-3.
Into the last quarter and the Tarts were trying to get even; Bob had now put Rory in his pocket and Dave in goal tipped a blaster from Johan on to the bar and over to atone for his earlier malfunction.
However, Bambi was being frequently penalised under the new rules, somewhat unfairly a few of us thought as he was only trying to work out where his feet were pointing.
With Keith now in goal the Tarts were pushing hard for an equaliser. With seconds remaining, Dave was put through and coolly slotted a left foot shot into the bottom corner. Game over – 4 all the final score. Off to the bar where discussion of the new tackling rule took centre stage. Is an attempt to block a pass/shot a tackle or not? If it ain’t broke why fix it? The debate continues into next week. See you then.
Over and out!
