Countdown to the next game at Benalmadena
Match report by the Commander
OLAF THE DESTROYER GIVEN A GRAND SEND OFF
Our popular German friend Olaf was given a fond farewell today at the PoliDeportivo, when some 24 players turned out in style before his return home next week to his Fatherland.
Such numbers necessitated playing two 6 a side matches of Dutch football on probably the hottest day of the year requiring regular water stops. The main difference in this format is playing with extremely small goals, no goal keeper and no player of either side being allowed in the goal areas.
The scores for both matches are as follows:
Team OLAF 4 v Team BORIS 4
Naturally Olaf was given man of the match by way of scoring one goal and hitting the post twice. Due to possible strike action and on the advice of the Journalists Union the names of other scorers are not being disclosed in eventually that they are misreported!
Team OWL 🦉 4 v Team BOB👷 5
The stronger team BOB 👷 after twice going behind in the early exchanges eventually went on to scrape a narrow but deserved victory.
There is no doubt that the main event of the day was the celebratory feast afterwards of homemade savoury pastries 🥮 and Scotch Eggs 🥃🥚 supplied by Olaf, Kevo and H, which not surprisingly was washed down with plenty of cool beer 🍻.
Olaf made a short speech saying how much he had enjoyed the past months playing walking football and was looking forward to his return in February.
Next match at the PoliDeportivo is Monday 14th June, 10.30 for 11am start.
