Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Match report by Steve Conway

Match Report by Milky
Back to bread and butter fare today (and me as reporter, sorry) as the Calahonda Crew headed back to their own patch for WF gaiety.

Just as today’s participants were assembling for battle, the ever tactful and pass remarkable Commander, noted that Ken’s footballing kit was reminiscent of Stanley Matthews in his hey day. The Commander was later flabbergasted to learn that the great man himself was a personal friend of Ken’s family! Nuff said.

Todays game was an eleven a side contest with top WF ref Steve Loasby in charge of proceedings. He might be a Chelsea supporter but he can have my autographed Charlie Cooke photo any day! Kevo took today’s players through his rigorous warm up routine which was followed by the obligatory group photo.

Kick-Off.
With a mix of old hands and some relatively newer members both sides took some time to get up to full throttle.

In fact it was fully 25 minutes before JC fired in the first goal for the blacks. The dark outfit managed to hold onto their lead for ten minutes until Dave the owl managed to scuff a squiggler past Pat in goal for the blacks.

The reds, who had up to this point had been well marshalled by the two Steves in defence, sensed blood, and a second goal was the end result of a misplaced pass back by the black defence.

Into the last quarter of the match now and both sides were battling for supremacy. The blacks were the first to prevail as Jorge following some clever footwork nabbed an equaliser.

This might be the last we see of Jorge for a few weeks if the Bengals win on Sunday! Good luck.

Referee Steve, who everybody except Bambi thought had a super game, called for the ten minutes left warning.

The reds, who seemed to want victory pushed for a winner and it duly arrived through Dave who completed his hat trick for today.

Nice one! Not unsurprisingly Dave declined to take todays match ball home with him.

Hand shakes all round and a few drinks in the bar enjoyed by todays participants brought this week to a close for the Benalmadena boys.

What will next week deliver?

Come along and find out!
