On another fine sunny day at the Retama the Orange vests beat the yellows by 11 goals to 5.
In a what in the main was a one sided game the yellows took a surprise lead through TV Kev’s ballooned shot from the half way line.
Thereafter it was a somewhat different story in no small part due to Keith’s team selection obviously done by drawing names out of his hat!
For the Oranges 🍊 both Johan and Glyn scored hat-tricks, the latter, his second in a week.
The main difference between the two teams was undoubtedly Johan’s ‘silky’ skills, scoring two of his goals with tremendous volleys in addition to several assists.
Glyn scored one of his goals with a back heel which he alleged was meant, assisted by the inept goalkeeping of KDN!
To his credit KDN when playing out of goal selfishly fed newcomer Geoff Bolton with a square pass, the ball less than a foot from the line with Olaf way out of position, obviously trying to emulate ‘Keef’s’ heroics from the previous Monday. Somehow Geoff ‘B’ totally miss kicked the ball and in the process didn’t score his inaugural goal in Spain.
Other scorers for the Orange’s were Dazzer and Olaf with two each and Steve ‘C’.
For the Yellows🍌 TV Kev scored a hat-trick before going off with what looked like a nasty injury to his ankle after a heavy collision with ‘Dazzer’ and Dave Lowe chipping in with two. Unfortunately this was TV Kev’s first game since returning from a year in Chile, perhaps it would be much safer for him paragliding off the Fuengirola coast than playing ‘walking’ football!
Speedy recovery Kev.
