On a bright and sunny spring Monday morning Benalmádena returned to the Retamar for the first time in 2021.

An enthralling six a side match game resulted in the yellows ‘arguably’ winning 9-8 against the oranges.

This score was hotly disputed by the Commander who reluctantly conceded the score to ‘Wrighty’ in sympathy of his  ‘beloved’ Liverpool losing for a record sixth successive match at home the previous day and obviously in need of a tonic.

Keef in a five minute spell when in goal for the oranges in true Grobbalaar style let in two goals which otherwise would have negated the need for any confusion regarding the score.

It subsequently transpired later when in bar he was dehydrated from a ‘heavy’ weekend and badly in need of a ‘drinks’ break!

Outstanding for the yellows was Olaf who scored 4 goals, with Dave Lowe scoring with a rare long distance shot.

Glyn scored an hat-trick for the oranges which he could have doubled in a frantic finale if it had not been for the outstanding shot stopping of Johan in goal.

Everyone having enjoyed the game afterwards decided to play at the same venue this coming Thursday (11th) with an 11.30am start.
