ORANGES …6 v YELLOWS…1

On a warm sunny morning with yet another excellent turnout of players, the Oranges ran out comfortable winners by having the stronger back line, ably led by Bob the Blocker making it difficult for the Yellows to get many shots of note on target.

The Oranges took an early lead with a penalty by debutant Pete a Charlton fan as a result of Big John deciding to go for a short walk in his own penalty area.

This was followed a few minutes later when Kevo blasted in a second goal from distance into the top corner of the net.

On the 20 minute mark Bambi scored the 3rd with a fortuitous lob shot, much to his delight.

Not to be outdone, Terry the Villain 🦹‍♀️, mine host of the Lilac Tree, then scored the 4th from distance claiming he struck the ball with his weaker left foot and that his bend it like Beckham shot was intentional when in essence it was a strong gust of wind which took his sliced shot into the back of the net!

The deficit could have been even worse for the Yellows if it hadn’t been for two great saves in goal by Mick aka Crocodile 🐊 from Dundee.

Likewise it was pleasing to see Kevo didn’t let in any shots go through his legs this week, deciding instead to improvise like a flying walrus to make one fantastic save from Stephen Mac.

Martyn scored a rare goal to make it 5-0 before Olaf the destroyer made it 6-0 hitting a fine shot into the bottom right hand corner of the Yellows net whilst Keef in goal was distracted taking a selfie of himself.

Right at the death Mick 🍒 scored a consolation goal for the Yellows with a terrific shot following a good pass from the Brentford 🐝, albeit the shot  of no more than four feet was still too high for Stevie the Welsh Wizard in goal!

It will be an alcohol free week now at the PoliDeportivo as Keef is away in the U.K. visiting family, therefore the Duracell Bunny will be taking his whistle albeit rarely used whilst also wearing his QPR kit plus the  obligatory cheating.

It must be said that today whilst nearly always the butt of these reports, Keef’s refereeing skills were absolutely brilliant, so much so that he even awarded a penalty to the opposing team.

He even told your reporter, when being interviewed in the bar afterwards, that as a result of such aforementioned criticism he has now decided to model his refereeing skills to those of Pierluigi Colina the famous Italian, to such an extent he had even considered shaving his hair off but Jill wouldn’t allow it!

This Thursday will be Olaf the Destroyer’s last game for six months before he goes back to his Fatherland, he has again  promised even more sausages in dressing gowns, not to mention other treats from Kevo and H.

Let’s give our popular German friend the send off he deserves.

Next match Thursday 10th June, 10.30 for 11am start. All welcome.

Addendum from a disenchanted goalscorer:-

Martyn with a Y scored the 3rd goal, left footed shot following a through ball from Kevo – Bambi scored the forth following a pass form me😎 it was my first goal in the opponent’s net so I least deserve a mention 🤓
