Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo
Match report by Geoff
REDS ….4 versus BLACKS ….4
Due to late drop outs and several late entries by other members wishing to play it was decided to play just one 10 aside match.
On the bar balcony afterwards there was differing views on whether two 5 aside matches should have been played rather than just one.
This, notwithstanding on this occasion, despite being a closely contested match and both teams on occasions playing some really excellent ball passing movements there was nevertheless a counter argument that the less able players didn’t get involved enough.
Following Breck’s suggestion the consensus of opinion to avoid any future confusion was that all matches will now be played using the same rules when this has not previously been the case.
Now to the match report, Colin Street gave the Reds an early lead hitting a shot into the top corner of net giving Kevo in goal no chance.
This was cancelled out shortly afterwards when Nigel drove a low shot into the bottom right corner of the Blacks goal. One apiece at the first break Keith a constant threat for the Reds put then back in front with a terrific angled shot past Alan in the Blacks goal.
2-1 to the Reds.
Almost immediately Nev equalised for the Blacks slotting the ball past Audrey in goal.
Then Geordie Trev encroached his own area giving away a penalty upon which Bambi for the Reds took it upon himself to take, albeit in fairness to him hit a good shot past our Aud in goal.
3-2 to Reds at end of 2nd quarter.
Both teams had chances in the third session the best of which came from Nigel equalising for the Blacks, 3 apiece.
There was a frantic finale to the last session when just before the hour mark following a fine passing move Nev put the Blacks in front for the first time blasting a shot past Dazza in goal. 4-3 to Blacks.
Then in the last minutes of the match Dazza kept the Reds in the game making a spectacular save by tipping a shot from Alan over the bar.
Then in the very last seconds Keith for the Reds scored the goal of the match with the ball at his feet pirouetted like a ballet dancer confusing not only himself but also the Blacks defence to equalise with a terrific shot.
Final score 4-4.
