This week Walking Football Spain is 9 years old.
Benalmadena was hosting its own matches 8 years ago as part of the overall WFS setup.
Post Covid, Benalmadena became a stand alone club and have gone from strength to strength continuously attracting new players.
This last year we have played 79 times with 2 games per Monday and Thursday with 114 different players.
The number of players at each game has ranged from 23 to 39 players.
66 players have played at least 10 games
Our age range is 50 – 83
We’ve around 14 different nationalities and 4 registered female players
We’ve welcomed travelling teams from UK, Holland and Austria
We’ve had around 8 referees with 2 dedicated refs in John and Dave 🦊 and all others rotating when unable to play and sometimes reffing whilst playing
We are fortunate to have an official photographer and ball boy in Frank and recently 2 new ball boys in Dave and Mick have joined him
The club is run by Geoff, Dave 🦊, Pete, Kevo, Dave 🐝 and Colin with our website updated regularly by Brian
We are always open to new players joining but with the increasing numbers can only accept residents and regular holidaymakers/second homers
