Match 1 report by Colin with input from Steve
On Thursday we had an embarrassment of riches as to who might write the game 1 report, with Rory accepting the challenge, Monday however we were scraping the barrel with part time ref and more recently instruction shouting goalkeeper Steve, reverting back to refereeing as he’s got an owie on his big toe.
His report consists as follows:
MOM Ton, scored in 1st 15, then went in goal for half hour & pulled of some cracking chances, came out in the last 15 and the reds scored.
Oh btw, Yoza on his return scored after finally getting his range, and running out of balls.
And there you have it, for a man of many words on the pitch, surprisingly so few off of it 😅
Match 2 report also by Colin
With some notorious rule breakers absent we joked with ref John about what any easy game 2 he’d be officiating on this lovely warm Monday morning, it was an unexpected commentators curse!
Both sides looked even for once with James back and Henrik returning to face fellow Dane Henning. Dave 👑 also making a rare Monday appearance wearing a Danish national shirt for reasons only he knows later switched for the White and Blue of Finland after the game in honour of his father in law who cheared the boys with a jug of beer, but I’m racing ahead here.
Blacks took the lead with a well struck shot by Dave 🚖 but Martin having sculptured his shaggy beard into something more respectable let fly with an equaliser.
Blacks were passing the ball around with confidence which led to a fine goal by Jim to lead 2-1
A chance to level was provided courtesy of Daz in goal, not being in goal when saving a shot, but Maj pushed his spot kick wide.
Around the end of the second quarter a row erupted between 2 red teammates and John had to bin both but with the water break soon after blacks didn’t take advantage.
Upon resumption of the 3rd quarter it seemed all was not resolved and unpleasant allegations were made resulting in a further spell on the sidelines for one of the reds.
A 3rd black goal started with a red corner, the ball was kicked straight at Colin in goal who rolled the ball into 🚖 feet who laid it off to Jim who dispatched the ball.
Ref John now having less to do spotted the encroachment into the box whilst blocking a shot by the black defence and 👑 took no prisoners blasting the ball to keeper Colin’s left, who got his fingernail to it but stood no chance 3-2 blacks
The scoring was completed when 🚖 dispatched his second and blacks fourth for a 4-2 final scoreline.
