In his own words!

After a week of no football and discussions on Sunday night about whether we’d have to cancel again it was with quite a bit of surprise that we played football under blue skies and a warm sun.

Game 1 was reffed by Kevo whilst playing and facts were sketchy but your designated reporter was given a couple of fag packets with some illegible scratchings on.

I can report that the scoreline was at times, 1-1, 4-2 and ended 4-4 with 2 late goals by blacks to even up proceedings.

Goalscorers may have been:

Reds: Paolo, Ken and Dave 🦉 maybe with 2??
Blacks: Alvin x 2, Dave 🐇 X2

To be fair most of those sitting round the table didn’t want to claim a goal, so the glory has been awarded in absentia!

Geoff was keen to point out that Bambi was crap and that Boris’s haircut deserved special mention leading mostly to his joint Man of the Match award along with Ton

Game 2 kicked off 7v6 with the late addition of Mercedes who swapped sides at half time.

A good representation of nations were on show with Hungarian Johnny, Sweden’s Kaj, Ireland’s Daz and Lawrence, Netherlands Mercedes and Englishmen from the North and South

Two early goals by Mark for Reds and Kaj for Blacks kept honours even initially.

For the first half the one player advantage probably put reds slightly out of reach with further goals from Lawrence, Dave 🚖, and Marks second, at the player swap stage reds were 4-1 to the good.

The extra player proved telling in both halfs as blacks started to build back into the game with Garry letting fly to reduce the deficit.

With Mark playing a high sweeper keeper role in reds goal it was inevitable that blacks would get another and a scruffy tackle by Colin on Mercedes ended with the ball bobbling around and he somehow back healed the ball into his own net with Mark stranded.

With the blacks reducing the score to 4-3 the next goal was always going to be defining and it fell to the reds Dave 🚖, who often misses, scoring his second.

A good game refereed by John saw chances for Keith returning from his holidays, Alan and Dave 🐝 with good keeping preventing a higher scoreline.

Tommy is adapting to his more advanced position up the pitch causing defensive issues for his opposition and Daz has a solid display in goal for blacks despite the goals scored.
