Seasoned readers of our page have become accustomed to Rory’s Ramblings or Fez’s Feature, sadly both were absent yesterday, so this will be your only fix of footballing follow-up

Game 1 was a 9v8 match refereed by newbie ref Forest Kev, nursing an injury so crossing the divide to be the whistle blower, but we’ve no secrets worthy of public knowledge, so no harm done 😉

Post match it was established that the result was 2-2 or was it 3-2, after much discussion it was agreed upon that Dave 🚖 had scored but was ruled out.

Goal scorers appeared to be Alan & Bambi for reds with Mercedes scoring 2 for blacks

Now to the game your match reporter was involved in:

Game 2 was refereed by Steve in Johns absence and it’s fair to say that a more relaxed style of control was on display much to the pleasure of the reds who appeared to be fielding the 4 x 100 relay team who used the space created in this 6 aside game to their advantage.

Keith in goal for blacks was doing his best to instruct Colin in defence who in turn tried to hang onto the tail of Gary who released the airbrakes regularly taking off down the wing or simply straight down the middle of the runway and unleashing shots aplenty on goal.

Captain Gary was ably assisted by his crew of Alvin, Dave👑, Prak and Pete to literally fly through the blacks defence.

When the blacks attacking force of Rick, Kevo, Paul and Dave 🦉 did manage to get a shot on goal they found seasoned ground crew Eddie in goal to manage any shots that managed to break through security, even when a penalty was awarded to blacks Kevos best effort was saved

Breaking the game into it’s 4 quarters, reds won 1-0, 2-0, 1-0 with a credible 0-0 draw in the third

The tale of the tape will show that Gary landed a hattrick and Dave crowned the performance with the 4th

Post match we welcomed Dani selling her raffle tickets for Avoi children’s cancer charity and Geoff announced that the club was donating €100, with donations and ticket sales €300 was raised.

We also wish Faye and Mercedes good luck for their upcoming tournament in Torrevieja where they’ll represent Spain
