Time until the Next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Two matches at the Polideportivo on Thursday, one of which was a 6 aside game between our visitors from Beacon Hill and Eastwood Falcons, who play in the Essex Over 50’s Walking Football League.
Due to the unavailability of several of there players, this no doubt as a result of overnight revelries, Breck from the home team played in goal for the visitors.
The visitors, playing in white started menacingly, indeed the home team didn’t touch the ball for some three minutes or so as a result of some intricate 3 touch football.
However, during this period they nevertheless didn’t manage to get a shot on goal due to some strong defensive play by the home team.
Despite the first two sessions remaining goalless there was some really excellent football played by both teams.
During this period, Keith for Benalmadena went close with two low drives from distance only to see Breck in goal make tremendous saves.
This was followed by Rory hitting a blaster which hit the post with keeper well beaten.
Our visitors likewise had similar attempts on the Benalmadena goal which Dave ‘Cab’ managed to thwart, especially from the ever dangerous Oggy.
0-0 end of 2nd session.
The ice was eventually broken towards the end of the 3rd session.
Rory, from a quickly taken corner, crossed a low ball for our avid Leicester City fan, Dave, to celebrate promotion to the Premiership in style, scoring with a superb volley.
1-0 to the home team at end of 3rd session.
Following the water break the last session began with a goal glut.
Just like when waiting half an hour for a bus to come along 3 come together.
Alex making it 2-0 for the home team with a low shot from yet another astute pass from Rory.
Almost immediately, the ever dangerous Oggy for the visitors scored with an opportunist goal, slotting the ball with ease past Alan who had now put on the gloves to carry out the rush keepers duties.
2-1 to Benalmadena.
With their next attack, the Essex boys equalised when Pete scored making for an exciting finale.
2-2.
Incredibly 3 goals in no more than three minutes.
There is no doubt the Essex boys were now feeling the effects of a late night and the hot morning sunshine.
In added time, Pete for the visitors made a loose pass allowing Alex for the home team to play a tremendous through pass to Keith to score the winner.
FT: 3-2 to Benalmadena.
In what was a thoroughly enjoyable match played in a sporting manner everyone retired to the bar balcony for some much needed refreshments.
It was most noticeable that the local lads sat in the shade, whereas our visitors in the sunshine getting some much needed rays before returning back to the UK.
Apologies Pete, I have been instructed to mention by a member of your team, who for legal purposes will remain nameless, that you cost your boys the match.
I think Paul had a point as a draw would have been a fair result!
