Last Thursday yet another excellent turnout at the Polideportivo allowed Breck to select two six aside matches.

In the game nearest the restaurant, Deano gave the Reds an early lead, easily slotting the ball past Welsh Steve in the Blacks goal.

This lead was short lived when Pete D equalised for the Blacks following a penetrating through pass to him from Keef.

1-1 at the first break.

Second session began with Colin putting the Reds back in front following a misplaced pass to him by an opposing player.

Highlight of this session was Keef stopping when he had the ball at his feet upon hearing the sound of a whistle being blown, thinking he was being penalised for running only to then realise to everyone’s amusement it was Breck refereeing on the adjacent pitch. Guilty as charged!

Third session began under floodlights that were being serviced, Keef equalised when the ball rebounded to Boris off him,claiming he had been dazzled by the floodlights!

Colin for the Reds then scored two quick goals giving him a hat trick, one a penalty and the other an individual effort following yet another misplaced pass to him from an opposing team player.

4-2 to Reds at the end of this session.

At the break Colin was told to change his shirt and made to buy a red bib, this as a result of the Blacks claiming they were passing the ball to him in error, due to its dark red colour.

The last session began with Gert, playing in his last game for sometime, pulling a goal back for the Blacks with yet another fine through pass from Keef.

Despite playing additional time the Blacks just couldn’t equalise, not least because of Alex in the Reds goal making several excellent saves, one a terrific full length dive, tipping the ball around the post.

Undoubtedly, in the end, the Blacks were made to rue giving the ball away too easily on numerous occasions, this despite Keef’s constant cajoling not to do so and not forgetting ‘SHIRTGATE’
