Time until the Next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Match report by Geoff

REDS….4 v BLACKS….1

Just the one 11 aside match on a sunny morning last Thursday at the Polideportivo  played once again on the far pitch, however unlike the Monday session thankfully the wind had abated considerably.

The Reds took an early lead with Ken scoring a typical poachers goal slotting the ball past Kevo in the Blacks goal with ease.

The remainder of the first session was pretty even with both teams missing chances at both ends.

1-0 to Reds at break.

The Blacks then equalised through Alan with a superb lob from the right wing into the top left hand corner of the Reds goal over the outstretched arms of keeper Ian.

1-1.

At the other end old stager Ken was once again left unmarked, he blasted a shot straight at  Kevo in goal from point blank range, the latter made a terrific save only to see the ball land once again at the hotshots feet. He then hit an even harder strike which Kevo again saved almost dislocating his wrist in the process.

1-1 at the break.

Breck as referee was doing his best to penalise players for running, however try as he might Dave the Cab just couldn’t stop doing so and was penalised on numerous occasions, especially when running towards an opposition player with the ball.

Others were guilty of running off the ball into space which the referee seemed to tolerate, notwithstanding  they were still gaining an advantage.

The third session ended with the scores still level at 1-1.

The Reds dominated the last session with Keef scoring a quick-fire  hat-trick.

The first following an uncharacteristic misplaced pass by Dave the Owl which Keef intercepted and blasted past the Gooner! in the Blacks goal giving him no chance to save. 2-1 to Reds.

The second following a poor throw by Gooner Fred in the Blacks goal to Kevo allowing Keef to intercept and score his second goal.

3-1.

Then in the last minutes perhaps the best goal of the match following a flowing passing sequence by the Reds, Keef calmly placed a shot past a beleaguered Fred in goal.

4-1 at FT to Reds.

Man of the match undoubtedly Keef not withstanding his occasional running off the ball into space.
