Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Report by Geoff

REDS……2 v BLACKS…..6

In the absence of our ace reporter Rory aka Leo Tolstoy yours truly was given the task of penning a short report of last Thursdays match at the Polideportivo, with short being the operative word!

Unlike the torrential rain of the previous Monday we were once again blessed with blue Mediterranean skies and warm sunshine.

In view of twenty one players turning up to play Breck decided for a change to play just one match of 10 aside with himself as referee.

The Reds took a shock early lead against the run of play with a fine opportunist goal from the returning Geoff B following a defence splitting pass from El Tel.

Bambi then equalised for the Blacks with an excellent long distance shot with Laurie in goal only seeing the ball when picking it up out of the back of the net.

The second quarter began and Bambi just to show his first goal was no fluke scored another opportunist goal after intercepting a pass from goalie Laurie, making it 2-1 to the Blacks.

Bambi was now strutting around the pitch as if he was Erling Haarland.

The Blacks midfield of Dave 🚕, Colin ‘D’ and Laurence were now totally dominating the midfield when the latter scored to make it 3-1 towards the end of the second session.

Third quarter began with Colin D making it 4-1 when Laurie in goal made an uncharacteristic error in allowing the formers softly struck shot to spin out of his hands only to see it agonisingly drop over the goal line.

The last quarter began when hot shot Laurence scored again making it 5-1 before Dave 🐝 deservedly scored a consolation goal which was no more than he deserved for all his valiant efforts leading the Reds attack.

Dazza, by his standards, was having a somewhat quiet game, when from somewhere he made a tremendous diagonal defence splitting pass to Colin D for him to blast home for the Blacks to make the final score 6-2.

Breck to his credit did all he could with the whistle to penalise the runners in particular Dazza, Jess and Pete 🏴‍☠ and for once not Keef.

Man of the match was mine host El Tel who worked tirelessly for the Reds in midfield well supported by Dave 🐝.
