Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo
Report by Steve
Just the one game today following a number of mid-week call offs. Keith welcomed new player Sergei to WF and also John from Lancashire an original member of the group.

Jim from Calahonda was also mentioned in passing. As always the rules for today were no running, no physical contact and referee Steve Loasby’s decision is final.
A further change to the team sheet was necessitated and Dave made a quick transfer from the reds to the blacks. Kick off. Both sides took a while to get going but in the early exchanges the reds found themselves under a bit of pressure from Gary, Olaf and Ken for the blacks.
Pete and Johan marshalled the red defence and began to push forward. Mike, in goal for the blacks had to make a couple of smart saves to keep it 0-0 at the first water break. This pattern of play continued into the next period but eventually the reds made the break through to take the lead. This was soon followed by a “jammy” second goal as the blacks struggling to clear their lines hit a clearance off Hans for a goal!
Into the third quarter now and the reds grabbed a third following some nifty footwork on the edge of the box by John. Referee Steve now assumed the unofficial role of team coach by urging on the blacks. This brought a response from the blacks and the artillery was rolled out….boom Dazza, boom

Hamid, boom Gary all had efforts that were high, wide but not very handsome.
However, Gary finally tucked one in the corner for the blacks. In the fourth quarter Dave got a second back for the blacks through one of his clever trademark angled shots. 3-2 now and a remarkable comeback seemed a possibility.
However, it all fizzled out for the blacks as the reds got a fourth goal late in the game. That’s the way it finished 4-2 for Captain Keith’s reds. No grumbling in the cheap seats now…you can get even on Monday.
