Match Report by Steve C

Lemons 2 Oranges 1
Following the usual preliminaries today’s game, the second in as many days, kicked off with Steve L officiating.

Welcome back to Pete for today’s match. The oranges played with a player less for the first ten minutes and took the lead through a well worked goal from Rory. James arrived shortly afterwards to balance up the sides.

Birthday boy

The lemons were struggling to find a way through the orange defence with Kevo in goal making some fine saves, including a penalty from the birthday bhoy.

Not to be undone, Alvin in goal for the lemons also made a few top saves.Midway through the game Terry arrived to restore the lemons numerical player advantage, however the orange defence held firm. Bob replaced Kevo in goal and soon made a fine save from a goal bound strike from Keith. Following a slack pass in the orange defence Steve managed to beat Bob low down to level the scores.

Both sides now literally battled to grab the lead. On one occasion James and Darren locked horns in midfield. James cried foul but the ref, quite rightly, felt it was six of one half a dozen of the other.

Terry returns after injury.

Late in the game Dazza toe poked a shot into the bottom corner following some confusion in the orange defence. Daz has certainly been getting on the scoresheet of late.

The lemons managed to hold out until full-time for a win. Hand shakes and up to the bar for a beer. Shock, horror none of the regular stuff left!

No worries Kevo our beer expert to the rescue selecting a suitable, and some might say a superior dark beer replacement. Will this be the beer of choice on Monday? Find out then.
