Countdown to the next game
Match report by Steve C
Yet another welcome overcast morning at the Retamar.
Dave forgot to bring the Tabards so he had to buzz off and fetch them as the players didn’t fancy a skins v tees match.

After yet another brisk warm-up, the 6-a-side game, featuring the 2 new Swedish signings for the tangerines, kicked off slightly behind schedule.
With Keith as referee, ensuring strict adherence to our WF rules, the game remained goalless for the first 20 minutes until Mike unleashed a rocket toe poke which dipped and swerved past the hapless lemon goalie. 1-0
The lemons dragged themselves back into the game with an equaliser from Dazza and went into the lead through a penalty from Geoff.
That makes it 2 from 2 now, a better return rate than some others I can think of!
Geoff followed on with a second and spent the rest of the match hunting down his first WF hat trick. Dazza got there first which helped the Lemons to a 5-3 victory.
Man of the Match, Dazza, displayed his newly acquired shooting skills but unfortunately on one occasion he went back to old habits, possibly inspired by Johans erratic shooting, as he tried to take out a parked up Volvo. Thankfully for our 3rd party cover the ball was the loser on this occasion.
The game itself finished on a controversial note as a rocket shot from big Al was deemed to have crossed the line a microsecond after Keith blew the final whistle.
Although it had no overall bearing on the final score discussion about the incident carried on into the bar afterward. Apparently it was reminiscent of a mistake made by some English referee at the end of a World Cup match some years ago.
As the jugs of beer arrived Daniel was asked about the performance of his compatriot. He stated that “han kunde inte traffa en laddorr”.
However, the question on everyone’s lips was “Where’s Boris and when will he return?” Maybe Thursday. See you all then
