ORANGES đ2 v LEMONS đ1
Yesterday on a sunny but somewhat windy day a closely contested nine a side game of three touch football took place on a widened pitch at the PoliDeportivo with the Oranges just about deserving winners.
It took some 25 minutes before DaveđŚscored a typical poachers goal to put the Oranges in front.
With both defences on top thwarting any potential scoring chances it wasnât until the 40th minute that Johan scored a terrific goal to put the Oranges two up following a clever flick from H putting him into space to go 30 yards unopposed to score.
Then, true to form, in the 50th minute, Keef the âself appointedâ referee awarded his side, the Yellows, a dodgy penalty claiming Fish in goal had stepped outside his goal area.
The penalty was well taken by newcomer, Maurice aka Bambi, who slotted the ball firmly to the keepers right giving him no chance.
Despite both sides having chances in the closing stages the score remained unchanged.
For the Yellows Dave âLâ was easily there best player with some outstanding defending and ball distribution.
Dazza for the Oranges as ever, was a constant threat in midfield, who on occasions incurred the wrath of Keef, being penalised somewhat unfairly for his enthusiastic manner!
Olaf for the losers had a quiet game and appeared somewhat distracted, no doubt wrapped up thinking of making his renowned sausages in blankets or his next netball match.

A warm welcome to Maurice!
The warm up, on a warm day!
Next match Thursday 13th at the PoliDeportivo, 10.30 for 11am start, all welcome.
