Lemons 🍋 3 v Oranges 🍊 1

Yet another excellent turn out at the Polideportivo on Monday, in a a closely contested and enjoyable 9 a side game playing 3 touch football and other than the keeper no one else allowed in the goal area playing to proper walking football rules.

In the opening minutes despite being on top the Oranges failed to take advantage of having greater possession and shots on goal. On 20 minutes Steve C aka the ‘milky bar kid’ intercepted a cross field pass to slot home a fine volley from distance to put the Yellows in front against the run of play. Not to be outdone a few minutes later Keef put the Yellows two up following a flowing passing move.

The next 30 minutes was end to end football with no goals until Dave 🐝 scored with a well placed shot for the Oranges following a defence splitting pass from Tony ‘W’.

Kevo then scored an excellent goal late in the game following another slick passing move to put the result beyond doubt in favour of the Yellows.

Yet another two newcomers in Martyn and John B were given a warm welcome by everyone, this  particularly so in the bar afterwards by a person who for legal reasons cannot be named.

Needless to say that same person sometime later in the evening when back at home couldn’t find the kit, this being a somewhat difficult task to do as Bob and H earlier had earlier relieved him of such duties for obvious reasons!

Olaf, yet again, forgot he was playing football and not netball when on two occasions he handled the ball one of which went unpunished, subsequently claiming he was allowed because he was playing in the position of goal attack!
