“H” was at his desk promptly at 9.15 and Pete Downing was the first to arrive and complete the COVID track and trace form….the Commander sanitised his hands before inserting a large thermometer up Pete’s Bottom.
Other members joyfully followed in quick and enthusiastic succession. WFS warmly welcomed Kevin Barnes for his first appearance.
After the completion of the forms 16 players entered the pitch area including the the referee KDN with masks strategically under there chins(naughty boys)
The match kicked off promptly at 10 o’clock.the early exchanges were fairly even and after Keef made an amazing diving save down to his left to push the ball round the post.The yellows(keefs team) took a 1 goal lead 20 minutes later due to Keef they were 5-1 down and it was decided to substitute the goalkeeper the game continued and was played in a good spirit the orange bibs scored a further 2 goals eventually running out 7-1 winners.
The referee and players retired to the bar for drinks and tapas courtesy of WFS. It was the perfect end to a great morning.
I would personally like to thank all the guys who turned up today and made the administration part of the morning run smoothly without any “hiccups”
Between Calahonda and Benalmadena over 30 players turned to take part in walking football in very difficult circumstances.
