Reds Paul 🎂 Kevo 🥧 Dave 🤴 Darren 💷 Jim 🏴Pete 🏴 Mark 🐦
The match day Ref John 👨🏼🚒
Looking at the teams when published the day before I thought Lynne must have picked them as for once they were balanced 😳🤔
Then I remembered we’ve gone back to picking them out of the hat 🎩 but they were two very well balanced teams that played out a good game.. cheers Fox 🦊
John 🧑🚒 had little to do other than blow for drinks breaks as everyone played in ‘Spirit of the Game’
It was good end to end stuff with duels going on all over the pitch… Fez 🐶 had entered Mark’s 🐦 back pocket prior to KO but escaped in front of goal putting 5 great chances either wide of the mark or for Dave 👑 to pull off a number of great saves..
Eddie 🥅 was his usual self making good saves, distributing from his goal to get the team on the front foot…
Tommy 🔫 held the back line getting in a number of last ditch blocks and tackles before launching long balls to the front two..
Tolga 🪖 found his feat and was linking well with Mark ⚽️ who was playing in defence and midfield.. Tolga 🪖 linked play well with the forwards and could have scored himself..
Mark ⚽️ kept the Blacks working hard competing with Darren getting in blocks and feeding Fez 🐶
John ⚡️& Alan 🎤 worked the flanks linking up with Fez.. They both created numerous good chances which an inspired Dave 👑 managed to keep out..
The reds played neat football Jim 🏴stayed long and stretched the game and had a number of shots saved by Eddie 🥅, Dave 👑 was having a great game between the sticks for the reds.
Kevo 🥧 hovered between defence & midfield playing good one and two touch football..
Pete 🏴 worked tirelessly up and down the right working well with Mark 🐦 who conducted from the back starting moves and getting his body in the way of shots and attacks..
Darren 💷 was all over the pitch winning tackles in defence, playing through the middle and linking up with Jim 🏴 and having pops at goal when the opportunity came.
Paul 🎂 had a great game down the left making himself available as an outlet causing the blacks a headache as he held his position linking up with both Jim 🏴 & Darren💷..
Contender for goal of the season.. it would have been.. with the score 0-0 Kevo 🥧 played a one two and strode into midfield he hit the ball with the outside of his right boot… it arrowed goal bound but the outside whip sent it crashing against the post ! He’d almost ran to the corner and completed a knee slide such was his conviction it was going to be a goal..
Scoring –
Jim 🏴 walked out in a short back pass to the keeper and rounded the on rushing Eddie to slot home.. 1-0 Reds
Some good exchange of passes and a drop of the shoulder & bosh saw Darren 💷 increase the lead.. 2-0
Fez 🐶 measured a pass in to Mark ⚽️ after some good play and he let loose for the goal of the game into the top corner ! 2-1 Reds
Good movement and ball retention by the blacks saw Fez 🐶 get an opening and a toe poke to the far post.. 2-2
Finally the Blacks took the lead.. John ⚡️ who had had a number of good chances well saved by Dave 👑 smashed one far post.. 3-2 Blacks
With the clock ticking down Pete’s 🏴 hard work paid off when he collected a pass middle of the park, the blacks backed off.. Pete 🏴 strode forward and let fly the ball nestled in the back of the net… 3-3
No time for reply John 🧑🚒 blew the final whistle..
As we headed to the bar it was agreed is was a really well contested enjoyable game..
Needless to say we had a few celebratory drinks after 🍻 UTB I was outnumbered R3 – B1 🤷♂️
