Daves Report game 1

Game 1. Monday Sept 14th.
Again, late changes in the game due to missing players.
With a hot sun burning down, the game was played at a good walking pace mostly, except for a couple of boys who insisted on running. However, pretty much the game was played in good spirit.
The game ebb and flowed with the blacks playing some nice triangle football. However, Martyn left the field not feeling well leaving the Blacks down to 5 and the Reds with 6 players. Playing in this heat. That in balance in numbers was to tell.
I dont remember the games detail due to my phone having lost it’s charge. But Graham in goal for the Reds, saved a number of goals.
The Reds ran out winners 6-5.
The goals i think went this.
Reds.

Seans report for game 2

Game # 2 Report 15/09/2026.
For 43 years I wrote the date month/day/year the US way now I am getting used to writing it day/month/year again. Which does make more sense. Anyway about the game monday. Another hot sunny morning greeted those assembled to show off their fading soccer skills. We call it soccer football in Ireland because Gaelic football is a man’s game with no whining or rolling around on the ground allowed. Game # 2 kicked off with the Reds controlling the ball and performing some nice passing movements. These movement generally starting with Mark and John ,The Hat, in midfield for Reds, but alas with very little reward, as far as attempts on goal. Meanwhile Black’s Stan, the Body, used his body to marshall Darren away from the ball on a number of occasions. These efforts were not to the liking of ref John and resulted in a 2 min break for Stan in the 3rd of 5 quarters. With Paul and Stan blocking ever ball that came their way for Blacks. At the other end Tommy gun and Dave King for Reds were keep Fezz goalless. For Blacks Keith was industrious on the right making runs and giving instructions to his teammates. With Kev, Alan and Mercedes playing the roll of link up between the defense and Fezz the glory seeking forward for Blacks. It was well into the 2nd quarter of the five, when Reds persistence paid off. A blistering shot for Aberdeens finest Gentleman Jim careered past the leg of your truely in the blacks goal 1-0 Reds. In the 3rd quarter of five quarters. Majid for Blacks broke through only for his blocked shot to land at the feet of Middleboro’s Messi, Fezz who’s toe poke somehow slipped through the fingures of Dave the King of Cambridge, in the Reds goal.
But wait another attack by Redd lead by Mark found Lawerence open on the left and a sly side foot shot left Blacks goalkeeper floundering on his ass. 2-1. Reds.
In the 4 th quarter of the five Black struck to tie it up 2-2. It’s could have been Majid, Fezz or Keith. It was hard to tell from my vantage point. I know it wasn’t Alan who had his hand or feet full containing Reds Mikey. That did sound right but you know what I mean. So down to the 5th of five quarters with both sides running on empty due to the soaring temperatures. Reds begun to tighten the noose around Blacks with constant pressure. Darren who had stood tirelessly beside my goal all game, when not being body slammed by Stan. Fired a shoot which bounced back off the keeper into the path of Mikey who proceeded to rocket the ball toward Mars and over the Black’s crossbar. The winner did eventually come. Scored by that man in the hat, John. I don’t remember much about it other that picking the ball out of the net. It was a good, close hard fought game. Played in a good spirit. Til next time.

By the way Sean, Monday was the 14th
