Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Match report by Geoff, our man on the spot!

The match at the Polideportivo last Monday started eleven a side.

Anton, the youngest looking 50 year old  ever, was allowed to play for the Reds, although through no fault of his own, his name was put forward to Keef by Big Al one of his Spanish classmates, the former obviously believing he met the requisite age limit. There is no doubt such rules for playing walking football was lost in translation between Anton and Big Al even in English!

A warm welcome, as ever, was given to Col the Manc on one of his rare excursions out of Calahonda for our City friend.

On paper, the Blacks looked to have the stronger team and so it proved with a comfortable 4-1 win, taking an early lead through Glenn with a blaster giving John H in goal no chance.

End 1st session 1-0 to Blacks.

After some 25 minutes, John H now playing in midfield hit an absolute screamer from 40 yards the ball hitting the crossbar and rebounding of Keef’s arse in goal to equalise for the Reds. Sometimes it appears your prayers are answered, when an own goal was given by our intrepid whistler Fireman Sam, much to the disgust of Mr Nobody who used to be Somebody in goal.

This made up for earlier decision to disallow him a goal for another tremendous shot from distance due to the free kick been taken too quickly.

1-1 at end of the 2nd session.

At the beginning of the third session, Sonic was fouled by Nev coming out of his area in the Blacks goal. Despite being badly shaken up after having been taken out by Big Nev the Hedgehog nevertheless insisted on taking the penalty subsequently hitting a poor shot in the process thereby see allowing Nev to redeem himself by making an easy save.

Shortly after this, Alan in his best Leeds Utd attire, obviously a Christmas present scored with a deflected shot past the Crocodile in the Reds goal. 2-1 to Blacks.

Then Bambi, although it pains your correspondent to say it, scored with a fantastic goal hitting a tremendous volley, until this time the only occasion he had touched the ball was at kick off, such is the work rate for this prima donna. 3-1 to Blacks.

Then the ever improving Han with his trend setting haircut made it 4-1 to the Blacks just before the end of the third session.

For the last session, Big Al joined the Reds and Breck the Blacks making it 12 aside, this perhaps the main reason it remained goalless.

However, it would be remiss not mention Fred in the Reds goal during this session who played out of his skin making several tremendous saves in true David Seaman style to deny the Blacks scoring again along with Kevo as always working tirelessly in defence.

For the Blacks Ian and Glenn were the pick of the bunch.

Full time 4-1 to Blacks.
