Time until the next game at Benalmadena Polideportivo

Slow Farts Report by Geoff

REDS ……2 versus BLUES……3

Last Thursday saw a welcome return to the fold at the Polideportivo of ‘old’ boys Paddy and Welsh John along with another newbie in Matt.

Ken ‘K’ kept up his fine goal scoring form since returning to the Polideportivo to put the Reds into an early lead following an excellent through pass from Glyn.

This was shortly followed by Dave 🚕 equalising for the Blues with a shot which gave Welsh Steve in goal no chance of saving.

The first water break finished all square then at the start of the second period a back pass from ‘H’ to Pete 🐟 in goal was smartly intercepted by Lawrence to put the Blues 2-1 up.

Then not to be outdone Welsh John having a fine game for the Reds inexplicably got his feet in a tangle to allow Bambi of all people to ghost in and slot home the third goal for the Blues. As would be expected from such a ‘quiet‘ individual the latter over egged his goal celebrations for such a simple goal.

Just before the end of the second session Glyn ‘Owen of the bank’ who after a few quiet games is now beginning to find his shooting boots hit a scorcher of a low shot from distance to fly past Laurie in the Blues goal. Although the formers secret passion of playing bingo with the ladies is no longer a secret.(see photo)

3-2 to the Blues at the end of the second session.

‘H’ then took over in goal for the Reds for the last two sessions and made some fine saves and blocks with his ‘slim’ girth to prevent the Blues from increasing there lead.

The last two sessions ended goal less despite the constant bombardment of the Reds goal by the dominant Blues.

However there was some controversy in the last session when the Reds looked to have equalised when Laurie GK fell backwards fumbling a simple shot, however he claimed the ball had not fully crossed the line. His integrity was not questioned by the Reds albeit this most definitely would not have been the case if it had been Bambi making such a claim. The latter constantly mouthing protestations during the match much to everyone’s annoyance and even on one occasion when he caused play to stop when advantage was played for the Blues when potentially in a goal scoring position.

It was great to see Paddy who initially was only going to turn up for the ‘lemonade’ afterwards marauding up and down the left wing like days of ‘old’, this despite his restricted movement.

Man of the match was undoubtedly Welsh John who kept the Reds in the game throughout with a superb defensive display

Fast Farts Report by Rory

Reds 4 Blacks 2

Approaching kick off both teams found out they were a player short each so rush keepers was implemented for today’s game.

Kevo after a late night decided he wasn’t rushing anywhere so he remained in goal. Both sides were evenly matched in the opening quarter but a goal by Kaj just before the break put the reds into the lead.

The blacks now pushed for an equaliser but Kevo stopped everything hands, knees feet you name it he saved it. Halftime came and went with the reds still in front. Kaj then scored a second for the reds. The blacks pummelled Kevo’s goal to get back into the game.

Johnny nearly made it through with a deft chip over a prone Kevo but he somehow managed to block it with an outstretched arm. Top save indeed.

Kaj then piled on the misery for the blacks with a fine strike for his hat-trick. Into the final quarter big bad John finally broke the deadlock with a blaster from close range.

Yet again Kaj burst the blacks balloon with his fourth goal on the day. Looks like he’s trying to emulate Max!

With 5 minutes to go the blacks managed to get a second following a bit of a stramash in the reds defence.

With the bar now open for business the drinking club stalwarts (they know who they are!) decided to call time early.

Full-time Reds 4 Blacks 2. Man of the match…Kevo or maybe Kaj.

Welcome, or is it welcome back, to Paddy, Matt and Mark – plus a previously unseen photo of Glyn ‘Owen of the bank’ gambling in Arroyo!
