Countdown to next game at the Finca
Match Report from Robin
A pleasing turn-out allowed for two teams of nine-a-side.
The Reds featured The Flying Dutchman and new recruit Hans Schmidt, who teamed up with old stalwarts Fred and Jim.
Resuming in goal after a recovering from a nasty hand injury was Eddie “Fingers” Ball. “Fingers” was back to his brilliant best and his clean sheet in no .small way contributed to his sides five nil victory. The scoreline
did not accurately reflect the state of play however.
Whilst Arthur and cousin John performed creditably in sharing custodial duties for the Blacks, on the day “Fingers” was the more influential player afield.
Both Chris and Diego scored a brace to a add to a fine strike from Charles.
With the score at four-nil and only seconds remaining Eamonn strode purposely forward (charged more like) and despatched a shot into the Blacks goal. Disallowed for running by referee Tony B.
On the restart Eamonn made up for his disappointment by playing an exquisite pass to enable Diego to record his second score.
The game finished Reds 5 Blacks 0
