Countdown to next game

Match Report from Robin

Another morning here in paradise as another eight a-side encounter gets underway with last minute addition Chris R., after an absence of a few weeks, lining up for the Reds (what other).

Nice to see Keith over from Benalmadena and scouser James giving his support despite still suffering from his injury from Monday.

After much huffing and puffing and despite narrowing his own angle, Gary is credited with the opening score for the Blacks after a check with referee Ian “Hail, Hail” Flynn. There is a view, however, shared by “Teflon” Eddie himself, that the goal is as a result of a goalkeeping error.

Nevertheless strike one to Gaz who goes on to score a proper goal later in the game courtesy of a sublime through ball from Scott.

Lesh, with a shot that nearly joined Richard Branson, and Gary are dominant for the Blacks with midfield maestro Diego orchestrating proceedings. Diego goes on to hit a post with an excellent effort before adding to his recent goals tally. (no pun intended) with a counter of pinpoint accuracy, into the far corner of the goal. No chance there for Eddie.

Reds fought gamely and both Dave R. and Keith have decent efforts hit posts before the man from Benalmadena strikes with an impressive shot.

Blacks ‘keeper Col the Manc decides he wants to get among the goals – he should have stayed in goal. He misses a hat-trick of chances but is unlucky when a shot is pushed onto the post by Eddie, spins along the goal line behind the floundering custodian, hits the other post and comes to rest on the line.

Oh and Scott scores with a thunderbolt in the Blacks 4-1 victory.
