Seven red bibbed players lined up against eight black bibbed opponents at the finca this morning.

After an engaging tussle, the reds went ahead through Nick Evan’s, with what for him, was one of his weaker efforts. The reds went further ahead with three trademark screamers – two from Mark Grufferty and another from Nick.

Two further goals from Nick were countered by a goal apiece from Nigel Keable and Charles Kleimunt to make the score 6-2 in favour of the reds, before Robin Beith ended his goal drought
with a counter which Tony Bullion contrived to dive over as it crossed the line.

The game finished Reds 7 – Blacks 2

It was nice to welcome The Dasher ( Howard Condor) making a cameo appearance for the last few minutes of the match, given his successful battle with Covid only a few weeks ago.

Calahonda Venue Co-ordinator Scott Carmichael was missing again following his recent minor stroke. Happily Scott is well on his way to recovery and is anticipating an early discharge from hospital. Update- Scott has been discharged and is now home!
