The five over seventy members of the James King Cup winners team were joined by Nick and Nigel for the red bibbed team.
The black bibs included Keef and Charles and Hagi, representing Benalmadena and Benahavis respectively.
The kick-off was delayed owing to Adam having the greatest of difficulty of balancing his camera against the ball for the squad picture.
The reds went into an early lead thanks to a crisp shot from Nigel which clipped Adam on it’s way in to goal. From then on in, it was mainly one-way traffic with reds building up a comprehensive lead with goals from Tony B. , Nick (5) and a further counter from Nick.
With very little time remaining the score was 8-2 in favour of the red lot.
Then panic set in and with time running out, five goals were smashed into the net. Only the final whistle prevented the blacks from clocking up a match-winning total.
Black’s scorers were Tony S. with three; Charles with two and singles from Keith and an o.g. from Tony “Hub Caps” Jones.
Mention must be made of our Romanian guest Tony “Hagi” who created innumerable chances for himself by his dribbling skills but chose, on almost every occasion, to pass to a colleague.
